Hi, its Gauri here. I was a CUET aspirant and took a year drop to prepare for IPMAT. However, I quickly realized that I couldn’t prepare on my own. For preparing for CUET, books were a constant companion. Compared to IPMAT, CUET was much more accessible. You don't need any coaching to prepare for it. Just go through the syllabus issued by the NTA (National Testing Agency) and start preparing. Preparation is similar to class 12, but with a crucial point that I prepared and studied for CUET continuously for almost 4 months, but half of what I studied for GRE turned out to be a complete waste of time. This is because the exam pattern might differ, and you should focus more on domain-specific subjects. If my focus had been more on those subjects, I could have scored more than 668 as a raw score. However, the normalization process reduced my 100 marks, and after normalization, I scored 577. With this score, I got into Motilal Nehru College Evening.

I am now confused whether to upgrade further or not. Upon reflection, it can be concluded that dropping a year is not the best option if you have good financial conditions. You might want to explore some good private colleges or prepare for colleges like Christ University, Symbiosis, or Xavier. These institutions have their own set of issues, so taking online coaching is a better option. Ultimately, choose the path that suits you best.
